Monday 14th The river height today was 1ft 9inches dropping to 1ft 5inches. Ian Houghton got the week off to a great start by landing a really lovely shaped 14lb salmon in the McGregor pool. Allan Donaldson landed a 9lb salmon in the McKenzie pool. Allan also had a 6lb salmon in the March pool. All three were taken on Collie Dogs.
Tues 15th The water level today was 1ft3.5inches at 9.00hrs it only dropped to 1ft 1.5inches by 19.30hrs. John Ives pulled a salmon in the Gledfield pool and a few were seen, the wind swung round to the east making things a little more difficult. Allan Donaldson landed a 7lb salmon in the McGregor pool, the salmon rose to the fly twice and was successfully hooked when it came for the fly on the third attempt, it was carrying quite a few long tailed sea-lice.
Wed 16th The water level today was 1ft 2.5inches dropping to 1ft 1.5inches. We had a bitterly cold east wind all day although bright and sunny, the water temperature was 44degrees. John Ives lost a salmon in the Wall pool and rose one in the McKenzie pool.
Thur 17th The water level today started out at 1ft 1.5inches dropping back to 1ft. It was very bright with a difficult upstream east wind which became bitingly cold as the day went on. The only salmon of the day was landed in the McKenzie pool by Allan Donaldson, taking a sea-liced 8 pounder, one other salmon was risen in the Gledfield pool.
Fri 18th Today the water was down to 11inches dropping to 10.5inches. Eric Page had the only fish of the day landing a 6lb salmon in the McKenzie pool.
Sat 19th The water level today was 1ft dropping to 11inches. We still have the cold east wind which can be quite gusty, at times we did not have much sun today but that did not stop Ian Houghton landing a brace of 7 pounders. Ian caught a 7lb salmon in the McKenzie pool and followed it up with a 7lb salmon in the McGregor pool.
