This season 85.5% of the total catch was released.

Up to June 14th, which is regarded as the spring fishing, our total was 118 of which 99 were released giving us a release rate of 84%.
The first grilse was caught in the Belle McKay pool weighing 5lbs on May 23rd by David Theaker.

The total of 86 for the month of May turned out to be a record for any May and any spring month, the previous best being May 1997 with a total of 85.

The interesting thing comparing these very similar catches was in 1997 we released 37 of the 85 (44%). Last season we released 71 of the 86 (82%).
